PhD in fruit science, Professor in South China Agricultural University, Member of International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Chairman of Litchi and Longan Working Group of ISHS (2019-2023), Editor board member of Scientia Horticulturae, Horticulturae, Journal of Fruit Science and Acta Horticulturae Sinica, Chief scientist of Longan Industry Technology System of Guangdong Province (2019-2023).

His expertise is fruit physiology. His research scope covers: (1) rhythmic growth of shoots in evergreen fruit trees and its regulations; (2) Canutrition in fruits, (3) fruit development and quality formation; (4) carbon nutrition production and utilization in fruit trees. He has published over 150 papers in international and domestic journals and 10 books. He is the convenor of the 7th International Symposium on Litchi, Longan and Other Sapindaceae Fruits and served as scientific committee members and keynote speakers in many international symposia related to tropical and subtropical fruit crops.
